Wray Community District Hospital is excited to welcome Venessa Christina, CRNA, to our team. Venessa brings a unique background, extensive critical care experience, and a strong commitment to providing safe, compassionate care to patients in our community.
Venessa grew up in Indonesia before immigrating to Canada at age 18 and later moving to the United States in 2016. Living in different countries and adapting to new communities helped shape her appreciation for connection, resilience, and making others feel seen and supported, something she carries into her approach to patient care today.
Venessa earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from McGill University in Montreal in 2015. Early in her nursing career, she found a passion for caring for critically ill patients while working in the ICU. Her experience in intensive care during the COVID-19 pandemic strengthened her ability to remain calm under pressure, make thoughtful clinical decisions, and support patients and families through difficult moments. That experience ultimately led her to pursue nurse anesthesia, and in May 2026, she completed her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
Venessa was drawn to anesthesia because it combines physiology, pharmacology, critical thinking, and hands-on patient care. Just as importantly, she values the personal side of her role. She understands that surgery can be an anxious and unfamiliar experience and wants her patients to feel informed, comfortable, and supported from their first conversation through recovery.
The opportunity to practice at Wray Community District Hospital stood out to Venessa because of its community-focused approach to healthcare. She appreciates the teamwork and adaptability required in rural healthcare and is excited to help provide high-quality surgical and anesthesia care close to home.
Outside of work, Venessa enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, hiking, traveling, exploring new places, and enjoying Colorado’s outdoors. She is also a foodie and loves discovering new restaurants and local favorites.
